TorqueXpert SD Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes what data the TorqueXpert SD mobile application (the “Application”) collects, uses, stores, and transfers, as well as the rights users have regarding their data.

By using TorqueXpert SD, the user confirms that they have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. General Provisions

TorqueXpert SD is designed for vehicle diagnostics, obtaining and analyzing data through the OBD interface, measuring engine power and torque, generating diagnostic reports, and processing telemetry data.

We aim to collect and process only the data necessary for the Application's functions.

The Application is not intended to identify users personally and does not require an account with a name, email address, or password.

2. Data Processed by the Application

Depending on the functions used by the user, TorqueXpert SD may process the following categories of data.

2.1. Vehicle Data

The Application may receive through connected OBD equipment:

  • Vehicle VIN;

  • ECU identification and information;

  • CALID, CVN, and other software identifiers;

  • ECU software and hardware version information;

  • Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs);

  • Engine and vehicle parameters obtained through OBD/PIDs;

  • Engine RPM;

  • Vehicle speed;

  • Engine load;

  • Temperatures and other parameters available through the connected equipment.

This data is used for diagnostics, vehicle condition analysis, power and torque calculations, report generation, and other Application functions.

2.2. Measurement Data

When performing measurements, the Application may store:

  • Measurement results;

  • Telemetry data;

  • Vehicle parameters;

  • Engine parameters;

  • Transmission parameters;

  • Tire parameters;

  • Vehicle weight;

  • Ambient temperature;

  • Road gradient;

  • User-defined measurement settings.

This data may be used to calculate and subsequently analyze power and torque.

2.3. VIN

The VIN may be stored in local CSV files and diagnostic reports.

If the user voluntarily sends a measurement result to the server for processing, the VIN contained in the corresponding CSV file may be transferred together with that file.

2.4. Location Data

TorqueXpert SD may use GPS/location data from the device.

Location data is used for functions related to determining road gradient and improving calculation accuracy.

GPS coordinates:

  • are not stored in CSV files;

  • are not transmitted to the TorqueXpert SD server;

  • are not used to track the user's movements.

Technical location data may temporarily appear in the Application's diagnostic logs.

2.5. Bluetooth Data

The Application uses Bluetooth to connect to an OBD adapter.

The Application may obtain the name and Bluetooth address of the connected device solely for detecting, selecting, and connecting to the OBD adapter.

The adapter's Bluetooth address is not used as a permanent user identifier and is not transmitted to the TorqueXpert SD server.

2.6. Technical and Diagnostic Logs

The Application maintains local technical logs required for error diagnosis and improving operational stability.

Depending on the operations being performed, logs may contain:

  • OBD/UDS requests and responses;

  • Diagnostic data;

  • Technical ECU information;

  • VIN;

  • Bluetooth address of the connected device;

  • Technical GPS data;

  • Application error information.

These logs are stored locally on the user's device.

3. Local Data Storage

TorqueXpert SD may store data in the Application's internal storage, including:

  • Measurement CSV files;

  • DTC diagnostic reports;

  • Technical logs;

  • Application settings;

  • Vehicle profile parameters;

  • An anonymous device identifier.

Local files are accessible to the user through the Application's available viewing, exporting, transferring, or deleting functions.

When the Application is uninstalled, Android normally removes its local data. However, data included in the operating system's backups may be restored according to the device's backup settings.

4. Anonymous Device Identifier

For communication with the TorqueXpert SD server, the Application may generate a random unique identifier (device_token).

This identifier:

  • is not the user's name;

  • does not contain the VIN;

  • does not contain an email address;

  • does not require registration;

  • is used to associate requests and measurement results with a specific Application installation.

The identifier is stored locally and transmitted to the server when required for the corresponding requests.

5. Data Transmission to the Server

TorqueXpert SD may use the following server:

https://txsd.duckdns.org

Data is transmitted to the server only for processing and publishing measurement results where such functionality is provided.

In particular, when the user explicitly submits a power measurement to the server, the following data may be transmitted:

  • Measurement CSV file;

  • VIN contained in the CSV file;

  • OBD/PID data;

  • CALID and other technical ECU data contained in the file;

  • device_token;

  • Vehicle name/label;

  • Engine information;

  • Modification information;

  • Transmission type;

  • Tire information;

  • Vehicle weight;

  • Temperature;

  • Other parameters entered by the user for the corresponding measurement.

The Application does not transmit GPS coordinates to the server.

A measurement is transmitted to the server only as a result of an explicit user action. The Application does not automatically upload measurements without such an action.

6. Server-Side Data Processing

Data submitted by the user to the TorqueXpert SD server may be used for:

  • Processing and calculating measurement results;

  • Generating graphs and reports;

  • Storing results;

  • Providing measurement-related functionality to the user;

  • Technical maintenance and service improvement;

  • Diagnosing technical problems.

The retention period for server-side data depends on the purpose of the relevant service and its technical requirements.

The user may contact the service owner to request deletion of server-side data associated with them.

7. Disclosure to Third Parties

TorqueXpert SD does not sell users' personal data and does not use it for advertising profiling.

The Application does not contain third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, including Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics.

Google Play Services Location is used to obtain GPS/location data.

The Application's network communication with the server is performed using appropriate Android technical libraries and an HTTP client.

Data may be disclosed to third parties only when necessary for the operation of the relevant function, required by law, or necessary to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the service owner.

8. Data Security

Data transmitted between the Application and the server is protected using an HTTPS connection.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect processed data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of storing or transmitting data over the Internet can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Data

TorqueXpert SD is not specifically intended for children.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If a parent or legal guardian becomes aware that a child has provided personal data through the Application or related services without the necessary consent, they are encouraged to contact the service owner to request that such data be reviewed and deleted.

  • Receive information about the data being processed;

  • Request access to their data;

  • Request correction of inaccurate data;

  • Request deletion of data;

  • Restrict data processing;

  • Object to certain types of processing;

  • Receive data in a portable format where provided by law;

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, users may contact us using the contact details provided in the “Contact” section.

11. Data Deletion

Users can delete local CSV files, diagnostic reports, and other files created by the Application directly from their device.

Uninstalling the Application also results in deletion of its local data in accordance with Android mechanisms, except for data that may have been included in device backups.

Data previously transmitted to the TorqueXpert SD server is not automatically deleted solely as a result of uninstalling the Application.

To request deletion of server-side data, the user must contact the service owner.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The TorqueXpert SD mobile application does not use cookies for advertising tracking.

Web services associated with the Application may use technical mechanisms required for the operation of their respective web functions.

13. Third-Party Services

The Application may use third-party system and software components necessary for its operation.

In particular, Google Play Services Location is used to obtain location data.

The use of third-party services is also governed by the applicable terms and policies of their respective providers.
